PROMEMO - Center for Proteins in Memory

About PROMEMO:

Center Leader Prof. Anders Nykjær, Department of Biomedicine and DANDRITE, will lead the efforts to identify and understand the function of memory associated proteins that determines the persistence of a memory.
By combining cutting-edge techniques in proteomics, complex structural biology, optogenetic memory engineering of tailored mouse models, electrophysiology of synaptic memory function, and high-resolution brain imaging in behaving animals, PROMEMO expects the studies will help explaining fundamental traits of cognition, emotion, and learning.
In a longer perspective, understanding memory-associated proteins may help identifying molecular targets for memory-associated disorders such as anxiety, depression, and dementia.

The PROMEMO partners are:

Professor Anders Nykjær from the Department of Biomedicine and the Danish Research Institute of Translational Neuroscience (DANDRITE) and Department of Neurosurgery, Aarhus University Hospital

Professor Marc Capogna from the Department of Biomedicine and DANDRITE

Professor Poul Nissen from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics and DANDRITE

Associate Professor and Group Leader Sadegh Nabavi from DANDRITE

Assistant Professor Hanne Poulsen from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics and DANDRITE

Assistant Professor Magnus Kjærgaard from iNANO, DANDRITE and AIAS
