Congratulations to Alena Salasova for the appointment as Assistant Professor in Nykjær's Group

Alena will continue exploring novel molecular mechanisms of receptor signaling during brain development, and their functional importance behind neurodevelopmental psychiatric disorders such as ADHD and autism.

Assistant Professor Alena Salasova.

Together with her students and collaborators, she will use a number of models and methods including transgenic mice and fish, human induced pluripotent stem cells, single-molecule resolution RNA in situ hybridization, light-sheet microscopy, transcriptomics, proteomics, and others.

Her ultimate scientific goal is to understand how the molecular make-up of the brain is formed and maintained – knowledge necessary prior to the development of targeted therapies for patients suffering with a mental illness.

Congratulations Alena!
